We walked along the River Parrett from Langport to Muchelney Abbey. Unfortunately it was raining but we were able to look at the shape (meanders) and flow (quite slow on Monday) of the river.

We visited the Abbey and had a talk about calligraphy writing from the curator who was very interesting and helpful. They also provided us all with a much welcome hot chocolate!

In the afternoon we visited King’s College, Taunton . We explored their Renewable Energy Cabin (TREC) and their bio-pool.

The children also carried out an experiment about insulation materials and looked at pond animals through microscopes in their impressive science labs.
